A New Cavity or Tooth Sensitivity

If you've got a new cavity, or sensitivity to sweets, hot, or cold that wasn't there before, it's time to have it looked at. The sooner it's treated, the simpler the repair tends to be — and at The Holistic Dental Center, we only use metal-free, tooth-colored materials, never mercury amalgam.

Signs You Should Bring It Up

  • A cavity was found during your exam
  • You've noticed new sensitivity to sweets, hot, or cold foods
  • An old filling feels rough, loose, or has a visible crack
  • You want amalgam fillings replaced with a mercury-free option going forward

How We Evaluate at The Holistic Dental Center

After numbing the area, Dr. Bentler or Dr. Simmons removes the decayed part of the tooth and cleans it before placing the tooth-colored composite filling in layers, then shaping and polishing it to match your bite.

What Happens Next

Most fillings are completed in a single visit, and you can eat normally once the numbness wears off. If a cavity or sensitive tooth needs attention, call us at (509) 325-2051.
